The mandate of the Alternative Food Aid service is to ensure the clientele’s food needs are met in emergency situations.  Furthermore, the service adopts an accompaniment approach to develop the clientele’s autonomy while also directing them towards other resources that offer a more sustained and regular support if necessary.

The Service has 30 active volunteers on a weekly basis in one of the following 3 fields of activity :

  • Reception
  • Accompany clientele through food selection
  • Treat and analyze requests (files)

Created in 2007, this service is offered to anyone living in Laval that finds themselves in an emergency food situation.  A symbolic contribution is required from customers to purchase milk and eggs.
