The media food drive

Every year, the first Thursday of December is dedicated to solidarity in the fight against and awareness of poverty. About a hundred media and thousands of volunteers unite, throughout Québec, to collect non-perishable foodstuffs and financial donations to help people in precarious economic situations.

During the Holiday Season, the need for food increases. We work together to allow everyone to celebrate this time of year with dignity. The donations collected are also used in the months that follow, when donations usually decline though needs are ever-present.

Together for the cause:

Centre de bénévolat et moisson Laval (CBML) and Société de Saint-Vincent de Paul (SSVP) work together to ensure success for this important event which provides food-assistance support to people living in difficult circumstances.

With its signature line “No one should be left hungry,”

the media food-drive campaign raised $171,801 for the Laval area.
